The famous Banat Pancakes like Ana Lugojana are so good, with a creamy cheese filling, covered with a vanilla sauce, all under a crunchy and reddish meringue.
Well, the first interaction with these pancakes was not exactly in Banat where they got their originality, but in the other part of the world, in the USA, where my friends from the 80's wanted to surprise me with an authentic home dish. .
The first time, I thought it was a joke and I couldn't believe that such a tasty and good-looking dish is exactly Romanian, even though they are based on the famous pancakes, specific to another cuisine. Arriving home, I found that it is indeed the true recipe has its origins in the glory period of the inn Ana Lugojana, located on the road between Lugoj and Beech, and as the inventor was not known, the name of the pancakes also bears the name of the inn in question. .
Fresh pancakes, vanilla cheese filling with raisins, vanilla sauce and a crunchy meringue, all in the oven, will make the dessert not only traditional, but also a refined one to treat your guests and loved ones.

Spread the vanilla cream evenly over the pancakes.
Preparation for meringue:
In a large bowl put the egg whites with salt powder, and with the help of a robotic kitchen mix until the egg whites become like soft snow.
Gradually add the caster sugar, stirring constantly until you get a firm and shiny meringue.
Using a spray bag, pour the meringue over the pancakes, evenly for each bowl. Not much should be put on, but it should cover the entire surface of the Pancakes.
Put the bowls in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until nicely browned!
