A New &ldquoFriends&rdquo Cookbook Will Feature 50+ Iconic Recipes Based on the Show

Looks like you can prepare Rachel Green&rsquos famous English trifle for your next Thanksgiving dinner.

  • A new Friends cookbook written by chef Amanda Yee will feature 50+ recipes based on the show.
  • Dishes will include Rachel Green&rsquos English Trifle, Phoebe&rsquos Grandmother&rsquos Cookies, Ross&rsquos Moist Maker sandwich, and Joey&rsquos Famous Meatball Sub.
  • You can preorder the cookbook now on Amazon for $40.

Thanks to a new Friends cookbook written by chef Amanda Yee, you can prepare Rachel Green&rsquos all-time famous English trifle for your next Thanksgiving dinner. Don&rsquot worry though, according to The Loop, Yee wrote in specific steps to ensure it doesn&rsquot taste like feet.

The book, titled Friends: The Official Cookbook, features more than 50 Friends-inspired dishes from Phoebe&rsquos Grandmother&rsquos Cookies to Ross&rsquos Moist Maker sandwich to Joey&rsquos Famous Meatball Sub. Yee was even nice enough to write in beginner and advanced versions of each, because let&rsquos face it, not everyone is a professional like herself and Monica Geller. Lastly, each recipe is noted with its corresponding episode for easy access to entertainment while you enjoy the finished product.

The nostalgic piece of literature is set to release on September 22, but you can preorder it now on Amazon for $40 and it should arrive in time for the long awaited Friends reunion special. The event was supposed to premiere on May 27 with the launch of HBO Max, but filming was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Variety, there&rsquos speculation that taping will take place later this summer, but nothing is set in stone just yet. &ldquoAt first we thought, shows will be delayed for a month or two at the most, and now it seems like it&rsquos going to be far longer than that,&rdquo WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer chairman Bob Greenblatt told Variety. &ldquoWe&rsquore holding out for being able to get this special done hopefully by the end of the summer, if the stars align and hopefully we can get back into production. We do think there&rsquos a value to having a big, raucous live audience to experience these six great friends coming back together and we didn&rsquot want to just suddenly do it on a web call with, you know, six squares and people shooting from their kitchens and bedrooms.&rdquo

In the meantime, Lisa Kudrow, a.k.a. Phoebe Buffay, wants to clear up some confusion about it. &ldquoWe want people to know: It&rsquos not a scripted episode,&rdquo she told Entertainment Weekly. &ldquoIt&rsquos just us, reminiscing. Talking how we haven&rsquot been in the same room for anyone to see us in 20 years&mdashor more now.&rdquo It will basically be a trip down memory lane. &ldquoSome people remember stuff the rest of us don&rsquot remember at all,&rdquo she added. &ldquoAnd then it&rsquos fantastic. It&rsquos like you&rsquore being introduced to something that everybody else knows that you forgot.&rdquo

The timing may not be ideal, but it&rsquos also kind of perfect, because you can now perfect your favorite Friends recipe before the big premiere.

2. Who ' s In The Cast?

Historical drama fans will recognize Laura Donnelly from her three season run as Jenny Murray on Outlander, while her co-star, Ann Skelly, starred in the BBC miniseries Death and Nightingales. The two are joined by Olivia Williams, who plays the wealthy benefactor Lavinia Bidlow, and previously won praise for her performance in The Ghost Writer. Meanwhile, cocky aristocrat Hugo Swan is played by James Norton, who you might recognize for his turn as John Brooke in Greta Gerwig's Little Women adaptation.

Rounding out the cast are even more notable names, including Tom Riley (Starfish), Ben Chaplin (Cinderella), Pip Torrens (The Crown), Amy Manson (Once Upon a Time), Zackary Momoh (Harriet) and Denis O'Hare (American Horror Story).

ILYND follows the after math of 18-year-old Conrad Roy who died by suicide in his car at a parking lot in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. Shortly after, police discovered a series of alarming text messages from his girlfriend, 17-year-old Michelle Carter, that seemed to encourage him to kill himself.

Baltimore Rising follows activists, police officers, community leaders and gang affiliates, who struggle to hold Baltimore together after the tragic death of Freddie Gray, who died in police custody. Now, the community wants answers (and justice).

Resting the cookie dough overnight

So here’s the deal… there’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news obviously, is that it uses that extra egg white and we now have two awesome recipes that come out of just one egg. The other good news is that you don’t need a special butter. The bad news is… they need a rest. The rest is necessary for the batter to fully ‘bind’. The rest is also necessary because, oh my god, what it does to the flavor. It’s deeply chocolatey. In the absolutely friggin’ most delicious way possible.

One egg and you get a baker’s dozen of the best cookies ever. These are somewhere between a cookie and a brownie (in fact they remind me a lot of my thick cocoa brownies). My husband, totally obsessed with these, said they were somewhere between a”brownie, a cookie and a molten chocolate cake”… dude, did I just create your dream cookie? “Uhh, yes.”

Super Fudgy Raspberry Stuffed Brownie Cookies

Okay, I should technically start with the basic recipe, right? Just brownie cookies. No frills, because one might think that a treat as genius as freakin brownie cookies doesn’t need any frills. And even just a few days ago, I would have 100% agreed with you.

But. But. Then I’ve tried these, and… it was a cookie dream come true. A revelation. A taste explosion. It was an ohmygod moment, and – well, it was decided. These super fudgy raspberry stuffed brownie cookies should definitely be published before the simpler (still tasty, but nowhere as spectacular) no-stuffing-involved brownie cookies.

I mean, let’s just take a moment to appreciate the completely over-the-top levels of fudginess going on here:

This recipe was a happy accident. The kind where you think to yourself:

“This idea sounds bloody amazing. It might not work, it probably won’t work, it’ll probably be a horrendous mess… but I NEED TO TRY THIS!”

And, oh boy, am I glad I stuck with this one!

We all know that the combination of raspberries and chocolate is pretty mind-blowing. So then imagine this:

You see a brownie cookie, with a pretty shiny crust and perhaps a sprinkling of sea salt. It smells absolutely amazing, and you can’t help yourself. You break it in half… and there it is. An ooey gooey centre, oozing a raspberry sauce surrounded by nothing short of chocolate fudge bliss.

Perfection. The sweetness of chocolate, with the tartness of raspberries… it just creates that perfect balance that makes a decadent dessert, that isn’t sickly sweet.

And to top it all off, these raspberry stuffed brownie cookies are also:

  • easy to make (PROMISE, not complicated at all)
  • gluten free (oh yeah, now we’re talking)
  • absolutely everyone’s favourite
  • so. darn. good.

So whatcha waiting for? Sheer ooey gooey fudgy chocolate perfection awaits you.

Big and Carrie's kiss after he told her she's "The One" was the fairytale ending we all wanted

Everyone loves a good happy ending — and in "Sex and the City," fans had to wait a long, long time before the central couple got theirs. Carrie and Big were the ultimate on-again, off-again couple. In fact, they broke up multiple times over the course of the show. Despite Big's difficulty in committing to Carrie, fans were still desperate to see the pair get together. Finally, in the show's final episode, it happened.

Carrie had been living in Paris with her new boyfriend Aleksandr Petrovsky. She finally realizes that he isn't the one for her just in time for Big to arrive to sweep her off her feet and say the words we'd all been waiting to hear: "Carrie, you're the one." Carrie grins and says, "Kiss me, you big crybaby." The pair kiss as the music swells — it's the romantic ending we'd all been waiting for.

As Bustle noted, this romantic ending was in many ways the perfect finale: "Carrie realizes that no man is worth giving up her character, and she was absolutely more herself with Big than she was with any of her other boyfriends."
